5 Tips for learning to self-care UNAPOLOGETICALLY!

Self care is more than simply doing things for yourself such as having a spa day, treating yourself to a meal at your favorite restaurant, or copping that new pair of shoes you've been eyeing. You have to care for your WHOLE self: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
1. Be careful how you talk to yourself...YOU are listening!
Often times, the words that are said to us become the things we believe about ourselves. Be careful not to be your own naysayer. In addition to being your biggest critic, you have to also be your biggest cheerleader. Be intentional about bringing positivity in your life.
2. Find and maintain a spiritual connection.
Spirituality, in this context is not (necessarily) suggesting a specific religion. But, it is suggesting to tap into the nontangible aspect of human existence. Whether your believe in a specific higher power or scientific explanations, living unapologetically requires you to tap into and care for the parts of you that extend beyond your physical.
3. Draw a proverbial line in the sand.
Set boundaries! Identify those things that are acceptable for your and those things that are not. Then, stick to your guns! Be okay with saying no and turning refusing to allow anything that YOU have determined to be a deal breaker.
4. You are not alone!
Your support system is there for a reason...use it! Allow those who are on your team to do what there are there to do...HELP! They are your second line of defense, so allow the mutual exchange and collaborative efforts work in your favor.
5. Keep gas in the tank.
Make sure you are taking time to replenish. Find (and do) activities simply because you enjoy doing them. Do those things that help to refill you, because it is impossible to pour from an empty vessel.
